How to Spend Less in Las Vegas
Author: Lorraine Messina
There are ways to have a lot of fun in Las Vegas while staying on a budget.
The Las Vegas Monorail is a good example of this. You can travel to Vegas hotspots in 15 minutes or less. A one trip ticket at the monorail station is $5.00. An all day pass is $11.00 and a three day pass is $14.00. The stations are located at the MGM Grand Hotel, Bally’s, Flamingo, Harrah’s, Imperial, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas Hilton, and Sahara. I found that Bally’s and the Hilton had the easiest on and off routes to the Monorail.
Located at the Monorail stations are coupon books for Las Vegas activities. I actually saved $5.00 off admission to the Car Show at the Imperial and $8.00 off admission to the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton my using the coupon books.
Some of the free attractions are the Bellagio Fountains. Streams of water are projected 245 feet from 1000 synchronized fountains. The MGM Lion Habitat is free. You can watch lions romp and chew on oversized raw hide bones.
Travelocity has Kiosks set up in Caesars Palace, Flamingo, Harrah’s, Venetian, Stratosphere, Sahara, and the McCarran International Airport where you can purchase show tickets. In the smaller theaters you can purchase back row seats that are less expensive and still provide a good view of the stage.
The food buffets are less expensive than some of the well known chef restaurants. In particular Bellagio’s Buffet has a good variety of food for half the price you would pay at well known restaurants. I would say the food even tasted better. MGM Grand and Bally’s have food courts where you can purchase fast food.
You can enjoy Las Vegas without breaking the bank on you activities budget. Just follow my tips and you will have a good time.
